Enchanted.inc

Frankly I really love this book and had a difficult time in categorize it either in fantasy or chicklit book (because it is a chicklit categorize book which telling about a single girl life in a big city) but also has fantasy side in it. I do think it is very very enchanted fantasy story without over written just exact amount to make it an enjoyable book and enchanted book like the title "Enchanted.inc" :)

This book written by Shana Swendson, telling a story about a very-very-very regular girl name Katie Chandler who comes from Texas and now trying to figure out her life in the "big apple" New York. Katie always know that New York is a city full of magic and miracle, but she never thought that the magic is a real thing, and the magic is there in front of her eyes, everywhere she goes she can see things that a normal person can not see. An extraordinary things like people who have wings, weird ears like a fairy or troll and other bizarre things. She thinks that she has gone crazy.

Until one day Katie got a job opportunity from a company named M.S.I Inc which stands for Magic, Spells and Illusions, a company who sells spells for magic world (not the showbiz magic world but the real magic world). Then Katie finally understands that she is not going crazy and the things that she sees are really real thing. She have a boss that can turn into a monster (wow imagine if you boss is really a monster how creepy it is), and fairy that have wings, and the most extraordinary and really comes from fantasy land is that frogging (a spell to change a prince to become a frog and if a girl kiss it, it will turn to be a handsome prince) is really true and real!!!

And beside the magical world Katie also have to handle her normal life to, like finding Mr. Right meanwhile her department head in M.S.I is very-very-very cute (but she made a promise for her self to find a normal guy without super power), mangle with her girlfriends and pretend that her life is still ordinary, and go on with her social life in the normal world. Katie has her hands so full with everything, and everything in her life is so interesting to follow.

A very recommended book to fill your spare time, I promise you wont be bored by the story. Two thumbs up for the writer who have big imagination and have the courage to write it in chicklit segment J

Toto Chan the Little Girl At the window

Toto Chan was written by a Japanese author name Tetsuko Koruyanagi and this is a semi autobiography of her self when she was just a little girl with the nick name of Toto-Chan. The book recalls her memory in her extraordinary school Tomoe Gakuen elementary school just before the pacific war begun (The Atomic Bomb that falls in Japan).

Tomoe Gakuen was an elementary school headed by Sosaku Kobayashi who uses the Eurythmics method of teaching. He had gone to Europe twice to study the Eurythmics method of teaching music of Jaques-Dalcroze. He loves children and he started his school in six abandoned railroad cars in 1937 with a philosophy that the basic of education have to make the children feel happy and free, which is why in Tamoe Gakuen the children have freedom to pick which lesson they want to study first. All of the activity at school was design specially for each of their student.

Toto-Chan was a student with amazing energy that made her get in trouble even in the first week at first grade of her school life. Toto-Chan was drop out from her ordinary school because the teacher can not handle her. Fortunately for Toto-Chan she has an amazing mother who very wisely keeps the drop out issue as a secret from Toto Chan until she grown up in order to keep Toto Chan dignity and high self esteem.

Toto-Chan’s mother then sends her to Tomoe Gakuen elementary school that was held by Mr. Kobayashi. And all the adventure and lesson for Toto Chan live has just begun in the Tomoe Gakun. Firstly Toto Chan fell in love with the train coach that was use as the classroom then when she met Mr. Kobayashi she felt very comfortable talking to him and immedietlly feel close and a bond was made between them. Tomoe Gakuen made a deep impression in Toto Chan live. Unfortunately in the World War II, Tomoe Gakuen School was destroyed in the American bombing of Tokyo in 1945.

This book brings awareness to us that sometimes letting children to do what they want is a good way to learn for them too. An education should not make the children feel in a prison of mind. So if you are a parent or a teacher or someone who wants to know about child education I really recommend you to read “Toto Chan the Little Girl At the window”.

Love Can Lie

I bought this book just a few day ago from an online book store, first I assumed that this book “Love can Lie” was written by an author named Alexander Romanoff, and frankly when I read the author name my memory went back to the Romanoff clan (the last tsar of Russia) and I immedietlly feel interesting in this book because for me the Romanoff family still have a magic in it and it will be interesting to read a book that was written by one of them.

But when I bought and read it I found out that the book was actually written by a group of author and it was a bundle of prose from them, the writers was : Alexander Romanoff, Reza Jula’I, Morteza Miraftabi, Shahrnush Parsipur, and Moniru Ravanipur and they all write one or two prose in this book and all of them is a powerful story with lots of philosophical word, that hard to understand but luckily they also give some kind of thesaurus about the word for us in the end of each prose to make it easier to understand (although sometimes I still think it is kind a hard to do because sometimes you just pass the hard word and when you get to the end of the prose you already forget which one the hard word was).

The most powerful story in this book was of course the main one “Love can lie”. The story line was about Nag Hong Fah a Chinese who lived in America (I think..) and he have a wife named Yuan Quai but his wife was unfertile so he married another women with hope that the other women will gave him a son to follow the family line. The other women was Fanny Mei Hi, she was a prostitute who have 9/10 blood of Chinese but she always deny it.

Fanny and Nag Hong Fah live happily and Fanny gave birth to a son named Brian, but when Fanny gave birth to another child which is now a girl named Little Fanny their live suddenly change, In Chinese tradition a girl is not worth it, as Nag Hong Fah said “a girl is only good to gave birth or to keep the house clean”. That is why Nag Hong Fah attitude toward Brian and little Fanny was different. Although he also gave affection to little Fanny and his attitude doesn’t mean that he doesn’t love the baby but it is the tradition that make him act differently to little Fanny. He also planning to sell little Fanny to other Chinese relative.

Seeing that Fanny as the mother of the baby feel that this is not fair and she tries all that she can do to keep little Fanny and gave her the best live and education she deserve. But the problem is Fanny doesn’t have any money to provide the best life for little Fanny. And what can she do? After all she is just a woman. All of the dilemmatic problems come across fanny. She even thinking about going back to the prostitution world in order to save her little Fanny. The end of the story was difficult to guess which make it more interesting to read the other entire story in this book.

The story was truly powerful and interesting to follow. But I have to warn you there are a lot of hard philosophical words in this book. So if you like a heavy reading this one is absolutely for you :)

The Stolen Child

First I want to be honest with you all that this is the second review of this book. I make the first one by writing the review based on my interpretation on my friend story. She read the stolen child book and tell me that it was a great story and then she tells me the story then I write a review based on it. well now I know that it was wrong to do such thing and if you want to write a book review you have to read it by your self because maybe sometimes your interpretation will be different from the original book story. Well now I'm trying to write the second review based on what I myself read from the book. I'm very sorry to the fans of this book who read my first review so please do enjoy my second review to make it up for the first one :).

This book written by Keith Donohue, telling the story about an old traditional myth of Hobgoblin or Changeling. Hobgoblins are little fairies who like to kidnap children and switch places with human children. A hobgoblin will transformer into the human child and replace kidnapped child live, meanwhile the child will turn to a hobgoblin as the exchange, when a child turn into a hobgoblin he will be a child forever unless he can kidnap another child and then switch places with him. Physically a hobgoblin is a child forever more but his soul continue growing and mature. And when he returned to the "upper world", the hobgoblin takes up the aging process where he/she left off.

Seven years old Henry Day is a typical child who lives in rural area. One day he runs away from home after an argument with his mother. Henry feels angry when her mother attention and affection has to be shared for his two little twin sister beside for himself. He was an egoistic child. Henry wondering alone in the woods and captured by a bunch of hobgoblins. The hobgoblins actually has keep their eyes on Henry for a long time because they know Henry is a perfect child for changeling. When the changeling happen Henry Day’s life changes forever when a hobgoblin alters his appearance so that he looks exactly like Henry, then the hobgoblin who now has transfered to Henry day decides to take Henry's part in life. Since then the true Henry Day turns into a hobgoblin and must join the other hobgoblins in the woods, and wait in line for his chance to change places with another child.

The hobgoblin who takes Henry Day part was also a child named Gustav before he was kidnapped by another hobgoblin. After he takes place of Henry Day he then uses his power to make himself aging year after and becomes the adult Henry Day. After a long time live in each other new world, Gustav and Henry try to remember their life before. Henry as a hobgoblin has an extremely difficult time, as one would expect, adapting to his new life in the woods and is unable to completely forget and leave his old life behind despite the urging of his fellow hobgoblins. Henry try to collect pieces of his life story by writing in his journal, meanwhile Gustav try to track his live until he comes to Europe. One time they meet at a point when they realize that both of them wants to get their past life back.

When you read this I suggest you to concentrate to the story carefully because the story about human Henry Day (Gustav) and Hobgoblin Henry Day (the true Henry) was written in a chapter randomly, first chapter is about Gustav, the second chapter is about Henry, the third part about Gustav again..then it became a random continuity (you know what I mean right?).

A very enchanting book with very descriptive story, lyrical in its telling. Spinning the story on two worlds that imaginary exists side by side. The human and the fantasy world. It is also a story about memories of past, present, and future live that always seems to connecting one live.

30 August 2007

This is one of my favorite chick Lit novel. I read it in the middle of my research in the collage (I read lots of chick lit book at that time). "Faking it" written by Jennifer Cruise, telling the story about Matilda live as a wall painter recreating famous works for the rich, and Davy Dempsey a professional thief (Davy was also a character in another cruise's book "Welcome to Temptation"). As fate play rule in their life one day both of them finding them self stuck together in a dark closet which turn their life more then they can expect.

Matilda have a passion to paint her own original work and she is trying to avoid her past meanwhile Davy is an ex con man, who has spent his life trying to avoid 'settling down'. Then one day Matilda forced to steal a painting from the home of a wealthy art collector to avoid a long time family secret to be exposed. This is when she meets Davy who has his own mission in the same home. They never meet each other before, but then they have to cooperate so both of them wont be caught. But somehow the sparkle of love or passion (maybe desire is more appropriate) comes across them, somehow Matilda finds her self in the arms of Davy's. Then all of it seems to begin upside down for Matilda and Davy's love from here.

"Faking it" really cover it all from revenge, running from past life. Dissatisfied feelings, multiple personalities (just like in the reality lots of people who are not what they seem), with the spice of love life from the characters.

At The end we can learn from "Faking it", that all of us have to really know who the true of you before finding who the true of someone else. And sometimes facing the past and accept it in our life can make our life happier

Bibbi Bokkens magische Bibliothek

I've read this one in Indonesian language version with the title of "Perpustakaan Ajaib Bibbi Bokken". This novel was originally published in Norwegian. With the setting of Norwegian country. It was made to be a novel for children or teenagers, but frankly sometimes the novel contains philosophical word that is hard to understand. But either way it brings more interesting things in the novel.

The novel was written by Jostein Gaarder and Klaus Hagerup, it is telling a story about two brothers Berit and Nils. They live in different town Oslo and Fjaerland - Norwegia, they choose to write a letter in “letter-book" to tell each other about their live.

Every letter from Berit and Nils contain a short prose about their experience, imagination, their message and impression about their live. Sometimes the story doesn't have any connection but it does completing the path to the whole story. And sometimes the story telling us so many things about "Library world" with many "librarian terms" such as Dewey's decimal (a person who introduce catalog system to the library world), incunabula and the history of books in Norwegia. The books also contain so many famous people such as Anne Frank, Winnie the Pooh, Peer Gynt, Astrid Lindgren (who becomes one of the character in the book), Roald Dahl, A.A Milne, etc. With a few of famous poem in it.

The fantasy of Berit and Nils’s adventure was so interesting and great to follow. How their imagination comes so lively in this book. And the mystery of Bibbi Bokken and a deaf Italian man makes this book full with adventure.

So this book successfully combine the meaning of learning new terms and philosophical word with interesting imaginative story which make it far from a boring book.
You should read it if you are a person with fondness in fantasy story and really have a passion to learn. This is absolutely a book for you :)

Beauty and The Bitch

Beauty and The bitch is an Indonesian chick lit written by Christina Tirta. This book has a complex story in it. It seems that all the character in the book by someway or another has a complex connected life to each other.

The two main character are Nadine, a girl who has classical beauty but so naive and old-fashioned. And the other one is Isabelle, beautiful and exotic girl but too aggressive and has a big enthusiasm. Both of them were best friends since elementary school but have to separate because Isabelle moved to Singapore. Then coincidentally after 16 years apart they meet again but their simple live has change.

Nadine now is a wife of successful entrepreneur, she now life wealthy, but she feels lonely and can't feel happy although she living in her dream as a child. Nadine constantly feeling insecure in her married live, she afraid that her husband will be cheating on her.

Isabelle still very beautiful and sophisticated, she has a boutique of her own just as she dream as a child. But her world has falling down since her mom died and her father got in jail because his friend betray him, and the most hurting part in Isabelle life, she saw her mother live and died miserably because her father has an affair with other woman and has a child in her age from the other woman. Isabelle has a child but she is not married because she doesn't believe in married.

Unexpectedly their meeting changes their fate forever. Secrets that have been kept for years reveal in front of their eyes. Their relationship will not be the same after the secret reveals. As I said before it seems that somehow the connection between Isabelle and Nadine bring so many complex connections to the people around their life. Then in the final part, all the connection will bring to a great secret revealing.

Interesting to read, but frankly the story end can be predictable before the final chapter. But still if you have time and enjoy reading chick lit story as I do, you should read "beauty and the bitch" and put it in your collection.

Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress

This book full with funny story with the background of sorrow, it was written by Dai Sijie, a Chinese writer (born in 1954) who run away to France in 1984 and write this book in his escaping land. The book seems to be a semi autobiography of him self, because the book telling about two young man who get a "re-education" from the Mao's government, meanwhile Sijie himself also got "re-education" in the year of 1971-1974. Maybe this is what inspiring him to make this book, and comes out to be a very touching memorable story. The copyright have been sold to 19 country, although unfortunately this book still banded by the Chinese government.

This novel telling a story about Sijie's unnamed 17-year-old protagonist and his best friend, Luo, are bourgeois doctors' sons. In the era of Mao's government when all of the young intellectuals was send to a program called "re-education" to live with the farmers in a village as a program to clean all the young intellectuals mind in the years 1971-1974. Because "young Sijie" and his best friend was young intellectuals group, and so they condemned to serve four years in a remote mountain "re-education" program.

Every day they have to work in a traditional mine and have to carry pails of excrement daily up a hill. Only their ingenuity helps them to survive. The two friends are good at storytelling, and the village headman commands them to put on "oral cinema shows" for the villagers, reciting the plots and dialogue of movies. One thing that makes them happy in the "re-education" time is their meeting with the "Princess of Hong Mountain" a.k.a "the little seamstress" from the other village who really loves their stories. The two young man very exciting to tell their stories to the little Chinese seamstress.

In other village the two young men have a best friend which they call "the four eyes", he is also in the "re-education" program. He has a secret suitcase which hold lots of book from western writers that was already translate to Chinese. In that time, all of those books were a forbidden book in china, if anyone known to have it they will have to deal wit the mean minister. But both of the young man (luo and "me") very interesting with those book. And after some persuasion they make to "the four eyes", they can read a thin book that is the book of Balzac and make it as an entertainment for them self so they can let their imagination free.

When "the four eyes" leaves the mountains, the friends steal the suitcase full of forbidden books that he has been hiding. They dare to tell the story of The Count of Monte Cristo to the village tailor and to read Balzac to his shy and beautiful young daughter. Luo, who adores the Little Seamstress, dreams of transforming her from a simple country girl into a sophisticated lover with his foreign tales. He succeeds, but the result is not what he might have hoped for. Who about the ending of the story? Well again I won't tell it to much to keep your interest in this book on fire ;). Do enjoy the reading because this book certainly worth it.

And baby makes two

This book written by Dyan Sheldon. First impression the book is quite easy to read, another fun chick (teen) lit light reading easy to enjoy. But after I read it a few pages somehow I realize that this book has a quite meaningful heavy story in it.

The book telling about a young girl named Lana Spiggs who wants to be treated like an adult. She is sick and tired, with her mother acting as the ruler of her world, and she wants to be a grown up herself and get married to a perfect husband then have children and makes a perfect family. But Lana was only 15 years old.

Lana meets Les, a guy who seems to her as a perfect guy to be her husband. A twenty years old guy who Lana thinks can end up her misery. Then soon enough they get together and Lana find her self to be pregnant.

Lana was overwhelming with this reality and she thinks that her dream is finally comes true, she keeps her baby (although her mother and her friends keep reminding her that having a baby is a big things with heavy responsibilities for a child (in the age of 15) to bear). Lana give birth and she named her baby Shinola which she thinks have a beautiful meaning in African language (later on she found out that it is a name of shoe polish, and her friends make fun of it). Then all the problem soon comes in. Les never seems to be around when she needs him, she doesn't have money to buy Christmas present, and Les mother seems never know anything about Lana and her grandchild Shinola.Lana finally finds out that adulthood is not an easy thing as she dreams about.

This book was a great chick (teen) lit generation which has a meaningful story in it. It teaches us to enjoy every step of our live. Because every step in our life has a big meaning for the next step, so if you still in the childhood or now going to teenagers live or even now you’re living as an adult, just try to enjoy every step of it. There is no need to fast forward it. Take it easy and enjoy so you won’t regret what you have done in the pass as Lana did.

Perfume the story of a murderer

When a friend of mine know that I'm making a blog about book reviews he immediately tell me to write about "Perfume the story of a murderer" written by Patrick Suskind. This novel was so great that it has already be an international bestseller novel and sold more than 15 million copies. A movie with the same title was made base on this book on 2006 and it is also one of the phenomenal movie.

This book telling a story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille a boy that was born without body odor but he have an extraordinary smelling sense, as a boy he survive from a rough life, born without his mother wanting him, and move around frequently from one house to another. The present of Grenouille made uncomfortable feelings to other kids who also live in the same orphan house, not because he is a bad boy but just because he has no scent of his own body.

Grenouille grown up to be a genius in making perfume aroma. One day after he kiss a red head virgin he got obsess to make a perfume with the scent of a virgin. This is the base of the story : Grenouille obsession to make the ultimate perfume with the body scent of a virgin. Then he began to kill 25 virgins and taking their body scent using waxing technique, the virgin’s body wilted as if they have been suck till the end, their clothing, hair and skin has gone!

This suspense fiction novel is horrifying but somehow has a strong story that makes it so interesting to read it from the beginning till the end. With unexpected ending. This is more than just an ordinary novel. In amazone. com a reader even said that this novel is the most elegant, aristocratic and erotic novel!!

There is no question that this is an absolute must read novel.

The husband

The husband, a novel by Dean Koontz, telling a story about love and the question does love have a boundary?. The main character named Mitch, a simple guy who lives as a gardener with his beloved wife in LA, for him simple is the best.

Then one day his work interrupted by a cell call, the first call that is going to change his whole live. The call was from his wife, she says that she love him but then another voice take the call and tell him that they have his wife and they want $2 million. But Mitch only has $11,000 in his checking, and the kidnapper only gave him 3 days and if they don't get it they will kill his wife and himself!

Mitch loves his wife dearly so deep, but will he do almost anything for love. Does love really is “the everything” in live? This book will give the answer, well at least for Mr. Mitch Rafferty, but we can also take the lesson from him. Although I do hope it doesn’t have to be that much intrigue for us ;)

In his journey to get the ransom for the kidnaper, Mitch live transform from a simple life to a shocking - horrifying - to an impossible live. And this entire journey is very interesting. The author is a genius in making the plot. We can't guess it easily like other thriller book. Very nice to read it when you have a spare time to enjoy.

Stardust

Stardust written by Neil Gaiman. This book categorize to be a novel for an adult because it had a several couple of spicy sex bits and one epithet although this story not mainly about it, maybe you still can read it for the kids because this book is still such a charming fairy tale but you have to watch out for that part ;).

This book tells the story of young Tristran Thorn who live in a rural English town called "wall" which is next to a wall that said to be the separation wall of the "wall village" to the land of Fearie. This gap is constantly guarded by the village folk of Wall, their job is to keep the inhabitants of Wall from crossing over into the land of Faerie. Once every nine years there is a huge fair within the field beyond the gap, and only then do the peoples from each of the lands mingle.

Tristin is deeply falling in love to a girl that he promises to grant her wish to get a falling star that they watched together. The falling star fall behind the wall. Then Tristin adventure is beginning. As he comes to the other side of the wall he found out that the star was actually a young girl named Yvaine. So he bring Yvaine to his beloved one as a prove of his love. Tristin and Yvaine (the star) really hated each other. but both of them knows that they are both in a very big dangerous because a witch wants to have the stars heart and that the stars holding something that the three prince from Fairy land really want to get their hands on it in order to get the power of Fairy kingdom.

These books full with magical creature, some of them are an important character for the book journey, meanwhile some of them just pass by the story. But overall even as we grow up it still interesting to read story of magical creature. They give a colorful color to the book story.

This book is magical, sexy and a little bit scary. A fantastic book to read. A book that will make your fantasy comes to live. Enjoy it :)

Bras & Broomsticks

Bras & Broomsticks written by Sarah Mlynowski. What makes me interested in this book?, well frankly the first thing is the title of the book, where is the connection between bras and broomsticks??. Then it finally makes sense when I know that the book story about witches, and I think Wow this is a must read book, because I just love all the story about magic and wizard.

This book telling story about a girl name Rachel. Rachel is a type of average teenagers who is sassy, self-absorbed, and insecure though she has a shy personality too. personally I do think teenage reader can find a similarity easily between them and Rachel.

Rachel just recently found out that her sister Mimi and her mother is a witch, she automatically thinks that her passel of problems finally will be over. She has lot of things to ask to her sister, and they arrange together a plan to ruin her father who wants to get married to a woman that they hate. Rachel really things that it is all will be under control and turn out right with magic, but then Rachel and Mimi must learn the hard way that all spells have consequences.

This isn't just another breezy teen read. The author really writes it in a very interesting way that every scene seems to be very enchanting to the reader. Can Rachel and Mimi handle the magic right?? Just read it to know it. You will enjoy it, trust me ;)

Diary of a mad bride

"Diary of a mad bride" written by Laura wolf, it was her first novel debut. Laura wolf was a screenwriter, that’s why the novel "Diary of a mad bride" make the reader feel likes they are enjoying a television show. The book is quite nice and enjoyable, and it can even be a guide book for a bride to be because it contains lots of helpful things in Amy Sarah Thomas's (the main character) to do list ;).

Amy Sarah Thomas is a magazine editor, who doesn't really believe in marriage, some of her family even describes her as "not the type of marriage girl". When one of her best friend Mandy is going to married with Jon (a man that Amy doesn't really like) Mandy turns to be very obsess with everything about marriage and it makes Amy swear that she wouldn't turn to be like that.

But when Stephan (her boyfriend) suddenly purposed her in a snack bar queue in the movie theater she just can't say no. And from that moment she turns to be a mad bride to be. And it all told in a diary form over the course of a year, with many iterations of a 20 points to do list (that evolving to 70 points to do list). The pre-wedding jitters are endless!!!

It's quite fun to read Amy's activities in her live during the preparation to be a beautiful bride as she dream of. I myself think this novel are really useful when someday I get to be a bride too, maybe I'll take some of the things to do list as a consideration ;)

Marriagable: Gue Mau Nikah Asal...

This book written by Riri Sardjono in Indonesian language. I know that some of you maybe don’t understand Indonesian language, but I do think that this book is very..very good so I decide to write a review about it, maybe one day the book will be translated to English or other language then you can enjoy it, but in the meantime please enjoy my review about "Marriagable: Gue Mau Nikah Asal..." or in English "Marriagable: I do want to get married if....."

This book telling about a girl in the age nearly 32, named Flory, her mom really want her to get married as soon as possible and she arrange Flory to meet Vadian (a son of Flory's mom friend) and hope that they can be together. In the other side Flory hate the arrangement, she thinks that it is so not the time to be in an arrangement married, she also kept a fear of married and love and all those kind of things because she has already been hurt by love with Gilang her ex boyfriend, and the married example that comes from her parents is not exactly as perfect as the Huxtable family (everybody knows the perfect family in The Cosby show right?).

Vadian turn out to be a perfect gentleman who determines to get Flory love. No matter what flory does to turn away from the love somehow it finds her again. It is like a game of destiny.

A very sweet novel that helps us to understand more about love. it even have small quote of words that comes from some famous people that help us to understand more about love.

Although in the few first chapter of the book the story sometimes getting boring because it constantly showing Flory's fear and cold heart, but as I read it through the entire chapter and climaxing in the end chapter, the story went very strong and attractive. It makes the whole book so powerful.

I do hope someday the book translated to English or other language so all of you can enjoy it. Love story is always interesting to read :)

Little Women

Little women written by Louisa May Alcott is a classic novel, maybe it is the classic chicklit I think, because just like chicklit little women also telling stories about women (chick) live in classical way (suitable to the novel age).

I read it when I was in first year of junior high school. And it touches me deep inside, maybe this is one of my inspiring book so I want to share it with all of you.

Little women telling the struggle of four girls Meg (the oldest one), Jo (The tomboy girl which was based on Louisa May Alcott own character), Beth (the shy one) and Amy (the youngest girl of the family).
They all facing lives problem such as the poverty and the war, and their sibling personality. But they learn to face it together with the best way. I remember that in every part of problem their facing, they always runs back to the family because they always have each other and that makes them stronger to face everything.

A recommended book for every girls who need a role model :)

Bridget Jones Diary

I know that this book has already being famous around the world, it also has a movie base on this book. It is the book of the ninety but I have just start to reading it now.
Bridget Jones is a book written by Helen Fielding. It is telling a story about a girl named Bridget Jones who lives in the age of 30 and still being single, the book mostly covering the story of Bridget who tries to make her new year resolution comes true, especially in the love department.
It seems like Bridget has a lot things going around in her lives, friends that has a complex love life, her parents problems who also complex and her love life alone, make this book very interesting to read.
Although maybe some of you have seen the movie it is still good enough to get back to the book and read it again :).
Some even say that this book is the first leader for chicklit (chick literature) generation. So if you are one of the fans of chicklit this is a MUST TO READ book.
Very..very...good book to read...

Bookaholics' Guide to Book Blogs: The New Literary Force

I found this book when I surfing in Amazon.com. It is written by Catheryn Kilgarriff , Rebecca Gillieron, Meryl Zegarek.

I haven't buy it but I do think this is a great book. from the amazon review it said that "This book will show readers how to investigate literature from distant lands, to find the sites of authors who are yet to be discovered by the mainstream, and to find the pages of book industry pundits who have opened their daily lives to a wider world."
and I think WOW THAT'S COOL!!!

If only Obor-library could get in this kind of book it will be fantastic.... maybe in a few years later you can find it in the new book of bookaholics guide :D

So if you want to find a blog for book review that doing it for love not for money (or maybe something in between ;) ) you should read this book. as amazon said (again I quote it) "this is an easy-to-follow guide to the top, book-related blogs." and when you find top review blog you will find reviews for top books too right? :)

But in the meanwhile if you just want to see all the creativity from new blogger like me, please do enjoy my blog www.obor-library.blogspot.com ;)

Tiga Venus

Tiga Venus is a book written by Clara Ng, The author of Indiana Chronicle and Dim Sum terakhir.

Tiga Venus showing the life of three women with different status: Housewife, single in the age of 30, and a widow. The three women having a three bad day and secretly have a wish to be different person. When suddenly their soul switch into each other body:
Juli become Lies, Lies become Emily, and Emily become Juli.

This novel has the power to be a great, but the story is tumbling into one another so it takes big concentration in reading it in order to understand the whole story.

But overall it is quite interesting to see the upside-down life of three women with three different personality in three different life.
